What ButterflyMX is.

ButterflyMX is a cloud-based smart intercom and property-access platform. Instead of wired handsets and buzzers, residents and staff manage entry from a smartphone app — see who's at the door on video, talk to them, and let them in from anywhere.

Video calling

Visitors tap a name on the touchscreen panel and place a video call. Residents answer on their phone from anywhere and see exactly who's there before opening up.

Remote door release

Open the door, gate, or garage with a swipe — no physical key or fob required. Grant one-tap access to guests, deliveries, and service providers.

Cloud-managed

Property managers add residents, update the directory, and pull entry logs with photos from a web dashboard. Software updates arrive automatically over the internet.

Entry log & audit trail

Every door release is time-stamped with a photo, giving managers a searchable record of who came and went — useful for security and package handling.

Minimal wiring

Most installs need only power and an internet connection (Wi-Fi or PoE). It retrofits into existing door and gate hardware — no tearing walls apart.

No hardware for residents

Residents use the free app on the phone they already own. Guests can be sent a virtual key by text — nothing to buy, mount, or hand out.

Visitor calls

A guest finds the resident on the panel's touchscreen directory and starts a video call — or enters a PIN / uses a virtual key if one was shared with them.

Resident answers

The resident's phone rings wherever they are. They see live video of the entrance and talk to the visitor to confirm who it is.

Door opens

One swipe releases the door, and the event is logged with a photo. The visitor is in — the resident never had to be home.
